Mario Ruiz (b.1965 Spain) studied industrial design atElisavaFacultad de Diseño e Ingeniería de Barcelona where he also has been serving as a professor.

Ruizopened his studio in Barcelona in 1995 and has since the start worked internationally and multidisciplinary in design. Ruiz work in industrial, graphic and furniture design, has earned him several prestigious awards from institutions such as Red Dot Award (DE), Good Design Award (US) andWallpaper Design Awards (UK). Projects for the global producersSteelcase (US), Haworth (US) and Teknion (CA), has specifically distinguished the studios skill in designing system- and office furniture. In 2016 Mario Ruiz received the foremost design award in Spain, Premio Nacional de Diseño, which is given by the state and the King of Spain Felipe VI.
